Canada's geography can be split up a few different ways since it covers such a large area. Some common categories emphasize the West Coast and Pacific region, the prairies, the northern territories, central Canada, and the Atlantic region. There is also the Arctic Highland, the interior plains, the Canadian Shield, the Hudson lowlands, and the Appalachian region.

Canada Geography
Canada's geography resembles much of North America. You have the same Rocky and Appalachian Mountain Ranges on the west and east. The great lakes share much of the border with the United States. Additionally, there is the Canadian Shield, and Arctic Tundra to the far north. Canada's weather has hot summers and cold winters with moderate humidity.
Canada Borders
It is easy to look at a map of Canada and see the country's obvious borders. Canada's only land borders are with the United States. With the state of Alaska on the west, and the continental United States bordering the south of Canada.
Canada is also bordered by the Pacific, Arctic, and Atlantic Oceans, and their many bays and seas. Greenland does get close to some of the territories of Canada.
Canada's Major Urban Areas
When it comes to urban areas, there are only a few in Canada with more than 1 million people. First is [Toronto](/ontario/toronto/), which is one of the biggest metropolises in North America with over 5 million people.
After that is Montreal in the province of Quebec and Vancouver in British Columbia. These 3 areas cover Central, Eastern, and Western Canada; though Toronto isn't as centralized as Chicago or Houston are.
There are 3 other areas with a large population, including Calgary and Edmonton (both in Alberta) and Ottawa Gatineau.
Elevation
The highest point in Canada is Mount Logan in the Yukon with a height of 19,551 feet or 5959 meters. Canada‘s lowest point is sea level with thousands of miles of coastline.
